Faculty of Telecommunication Technologies

The Faculty of Telecommunication Technologies was established in accordance with Order No. 595 dated September 3, 2018, of the Urgench Branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.
Based on Order No. 78n dated September 2, 2020, the name of the faculty “Telecommunication Technologies and Vocational Education” was changed to “Telecommunication Technologies”.

In 2018–2019, Rakhimboyev Khikmat Jumanazarovich served as Dean of the Faculty of Telecommunication Technologies and Vocational Education.
In 2019–2020, Avezov Nodirbek Egamberganovich held the position of Dean of the Faculty.
Since 2020, Avazov Erkinjon Sherimmatovich has been serving as Dean of the Faculty.

The Faculty of Telecommunication Technologies provides training of specialists (by fields of study and specializations) without separation from industrial practice. In order to expand and strengthen the integration of education, science, and industry, branches of the faculty’s departments have been established at major industry enterprises, including Uzbektelecom JSC Khorezm Branch, the 9th Telecommunications Transport Network Hub, Uzbektelecom JSC UzMobile Khorezm Branch, and UzNET.

The faculty trains specialists in the design, construction, and operation of digital telecommunication systems and data transmission systems operating over fiber-optic, satellite, radio relay, and cable communication networks.

The faculty offers bachelor’s degree programs in the following fields:

  • 60320400 – Library and Information Activities (by types of activities);

  • 60610600 – Telecommunication Technologies;

  • 60610600 – Software Engineering;

  • 60611300 – Vocational Education in the Field of Information and Communication Technologies;

  • 60611400 – Postal Communication Technology.

Master’s degree programs are offered in the following specializations:

  • 5A335101 – Telecommunication Engineering (Television and Radio Broadcasting);

  • 70610601 – Telecommunication Engineering;

  • 70610606 – Photonics and Optical Communication;

  • 70610401 – Software Engineering.

Students of bachelor’s degree programs study in full-time, part-time, and distance learning formats. Part-time education at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi has been implemented since the 2018–2019 academic year in accordance with admission quotas approved by the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as in part-time formats for second and subsequent higher education programs.
