Eco-active Youth – Towards a Green Future

At the initiative of Sh. Jumaniyazova, Advisor to the Dean on Women's Issues of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy, a spiritual, educational, and ecological advocacy event titled “Eco-active Youth – Towards a Green Future” was organized with the participation of department associate professors Sh. Babadjanova, U. Avezova, F. Sattarova, S. Ollanazarov, and students.

The main objective of the event: to cultivate an ecological culture among youth, preserve nature, develop knowledge and skills regarding environmental protection, and support the ecological startup and innovative ideas of young people.

Opening the event with introductory remarks, the organizers highlighted the significance of enhancing the role and ecological responsibility of youth in addressing current global environmental challenges.

The university stage of the “New Tree — New Breath” eco-championship was held

In accordance with Decree No. 184 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 15, 2025, “On approval of the Concept for raising the ecological culture of the population in the period up to 2030,” the organization of the “New Tree — New Breath” republican eco-championship within the framework of the “Yashil Makon” nationwide project is scheduled annually among various strata of the population, particularly student-youth and pupils.

In order to ensure the execution of this task, the university stage of the “New Tree — New Breath” republican eco-championship within the framework of the “Yashil Makon” nationwide project took place among students at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy. Student-youth from the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences actively participated, contributing to noble initiatives such as tree planting and greening the environment on the campus territory.
At the end of the event, the actively participating student-youth were awarded memorable gifts.


The faculty eco-championship “New Tree — New Breath” took place

Today, November 13, the faculty stage of the “New Tree — New Breath” Republican eco-championship was held at the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy within the framework of the “Yashil Makon” nationwide project.

The event was organized within the framework of executing the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approval of the Concept for raising the ecological culture of the population in the period up to 2030” and the letter from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation dated November 10, 2025.


Territorial greening activities are being conducted at Urgench State University within the framework of the “Yashil Makon” nationwide project

This project enhances the attention of our people, especially our youth, towards environmental protection, increasing green areas, preserving them, and taking care of Mother Earth.

Any work done towards environmental improvement and greening is, first and foremost, a meritorious and noble deed performed for the benefit of the people.


Clean Area — Healthy Life!

At the initiative of the Khorezm Regional Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Regional Youth Affairs Agency and the Khorezm Regional Department of the Association of Neighborhoods of Uzbekistan, a plogging campaign was organized in Urgench under the slogan “Clean Area — Healthy Life!”.

Teachers of the department and students of ecology groups 221, 222, and 223 actively participated in the event, led by S. Babajanova, head of the Department of Ecology and Life Safety at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy.

During the campaign, participants cleaned various areas of the city and carried out promotional work to raise environmental culture among the population.

Such initiatives are of great importance in environmental preservation, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and increasing the ecological responsibility of young people.


World Cleanup Day: A Practical Initiative by Youth

On the occasion of "September 20 — World Cleanup Day," eco-volunteer students from the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy, accompanied by their tutors, actively participated in cleanup events organized in the center of our region. Through this initiative, student-youth contributed to environmental preservation, elevating ecological culture, and ensuring a clean, prosperous environment. This activity by the faculty's eco-volunteers was not only a source of practical assistance but also an important step toward widely promoting environmental responsibility within society. Such events within the framework of World Cleanup Day serve to educate youth as citizens who are attentive to nature and not indifferent to environmental problems.

The activities of the “Uzbekistan Eco-volunteer Students Movement” have been launched at UrSU

 

Eco-active students of Urgench State University actively participated in the eco-campaign "World Cleanup Day: Mass Plogging".

 

An "Ecological Intellectual Ring" competition was held at the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences on the occasion of "April 15 — Day of Environmental Knowledge".

 

On the occasion of "March 21 - International Day of Forests," a roundtable discussion was organized with the participation of 3rd-year students specializing in Ecology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.

 

An exhibition was organized by the Department of Ecology and Life Safety on the occasion of "March 3 — World Wildlife Day".
