Today, an international conference titled “New Stages in the Socio-Economic Development of Uzbekistan–Turkey Relations” was held at Urgench State University, initiated by the Faculty of Socio-Economic Sciences in cooperation with a number of Turkish higher education institutions and organizations.
The conference was opened by the Rector of the university, Feruza Madrakhimova, who spoke about the importance of strong friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
Representatives of Turkish universities and research centers also delivered their remarks, including Metin Orbay, Vice-Rector of Hacı Bayram Veli University; Cemile Kınacı Baran, Director of the Turkic World Program and Research Center; Esin Acar Ergin, representative of TİKA; Nasrullah Uzman, Director of the Center for Applied Asian Studies; and Ahmet Özkanlar, Coordinator of the Uzbekistan Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center. They shared their views on the scientific and cultural significance of the conference as well as the prospects for Uzbekistan–Turkey relations.
Currently, the conference is continuing its work in sectional sessions.
