Implementation of Decree PF–33: Issues of Protecting the Rights of Women and Children Discussed


Today, a meeting dedicated to the essence and significance of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF–33 “On additional organizational and legal measures to strengthen the protection of the rights of women and children and to prevent cases of harassment and violence against them” was held at Urgench State University.

The event was attended by Nigora Kutlimuratova, Deputy Governor of Khorezm region; Feruza Madrakhimova, Rector of Urgench State University; Lola Saidova, Head of the working group responsible for ensuring the implementation of this Decree, Chief Researcher at the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies, Doctor of Law, Professor; as well as members of the permanent regional working group under the Department of Family and Women Affairs, and responsible staff of Urgench State University.

During the seminar, the main content and significance of the Decree, ongoing reforms aimed at ensuring the rights of women and children in society, and issues of further strengthening inter-agency cooperation in preventing harassment and violence were thoroughly discussed.

In addition, members of the working group put forward proposals and opinions on improving legal awareness among women, strengthening family values, and effectively organizing preventive activities.
