Department of International Relations;

Department of International Relations of Urgench State University was established in 2000 and includes B. Hikmetov (2000 - 2002), Z. Ibragimov (2002 - 2007, August 2015), M. Masharipov (2007 - 2009), J. Boltaev (2009 - 2012), L. Gandjaeva (2013), R. Atakhanov (2012, 2014 - 2015) worked as the head of the department. Over the past 15 years, the department has worked with many countries in the European Union, the United States, India, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, as well as the United Nations, the European Commission's Education and Culture Agency and many other international organizations. Cooperation in education, research and exchange of experience has been established. As a result of this cooperation, the university has implemented more than 30 large and small projects worth about $ 15 million, more than 200 professors, researchers and students have exchanged experiences, improved their skills, studied and returned from developed country's universities and research centers. In addition, more than 100 foreign dignitaries (ambassadors, university rectors, statesmen, writers and poets), scientists, teachers, researchers, volunteers, students and staff of partner organizations visited the university. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the European Union's TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus plus, South Korea's KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), Germany's DAAD (German Academic Exchange Organization) and GIZ (Germany International Cooperation) USA, France , German embassies and cultural centers in Uzbekistan. In addition, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United States and the University of California, the 1st International Conference of U.S.-Uzbek Scientists held on May 20-23, 2014 in collaboration with scientists from California State University in Fullerton. It was agreed to hold this conference in 2017 at UrSU. In addition, scientists from the two universities jointly presented a project to the American National Science Foundation to help U.S. students’ work with scientists from Urgench State University during the summer holidays and study the history of Uzbekistan. Currently, the university cooperates with the universities of Las Palmas in Spain, Padua in Italy, the University of Latvia in Latvia and the University of Zagreb in Croatia within the framework of the European Union's Erasmus plus program "International credit mobility". In addition, Erasmus Plus is cooperating with the University of Santiago De Compostella in Spain under the Capacity Building program under the Establishment of Computing Centers and Curriculum Development in Mathematical Engineering Master program (ECCUM). In the future, the Department of International Relations plans to expand the scope and geography of international cooperation of the university.
