National costume festival held at UrSU

On May 16, in order to widely promote the national values, customs and traditions of our people among young people, a national costume festival was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni under the slogan “National costumes are the beauty of the nation”.

Various events promoting our nationality, a national costume show, exhibitions, sports competitions and an entertaining concert program were organized at the festival. An “Osh Championship” was also organized, in which 8 teams from all 8 faculties of the university enthusiastically prepared the Uzbek national dish - osh.

Also, at the national costume show held as part of the festival, students presented modern interpretations of Uzbek national costumes typical of different regions, as well as costumes made from national fabrics such as traditional patterns, atlas, and adras.

After that, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the “Rector's Cup” competitions was held. The winners of the competition, which was held for a month to promote a healthy lifestyle and increase physical activity among young people, were awarded diplomas and valuable souvenirs by the university.

The festival ended with an entertaining concert program.
