On March 30, the 8th meeting of the Academic Council of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni was held. The meeting was chaired by the university’s rector, Feruza Madrakhimova, with the participation of Council members.
The meeting opened with joyful news. First, diplomas of academic degrees and titles were awarded to professors and lecturers who have made a significant contribution to enhancing the university’s scientific potential.
The rector warmly congratulated all diploma recipients and emphasized that the university administration is always ready to support the consistent continuation of research, as well as new ideas and initiatives.
Certificates were also presented to the winners of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s scholarships, other state scholarships, and scholarships established by Urgench State University.
In addition, students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, who participated successfully in the VI International Open Science Olympiad in Mathematics held in Turkmenistan from March 23 to 28, received certificates for their medals: 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze, totaling 7 medals. Their instructors received letters of appreciation.
During the Council meeting, reports and briefings were heard from responsible officials on important agenda items. Specifically, the following issues were thoroughly discussed:
Current information on the political, economic, and social life of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
Activities of the University Information Resource Center;
Ensuring employment of graduates and the allocation of loans under the “Step into the Future” project;
Conditions in student dormitories and the effectiveness of moral and educational work;
Quality of the educational process in departments and compliance with academic regulations.
For each issue, Council Chair Feruza Madrakhimova assigned specific tasks to responsible officials and issued instructions to strengthen compliance and discipline. Important initiatives were proposed to further improve university operations, enhance the quality of education, and increase management efficiency.
Additionally, various other matters were discussed at the meeting, including elections for positions and awarding academic titles within the SAC.
