The republican scientific-practical online internet conference with the participation of foreign scientists


Urgench State University (UrSU) signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Cantabria (UС), Spain in 2017.

In accordance with the agreement, the exchange of bachelors, undergraduates, teachers and staff will be carried out first on the basis of the EU Erasmus + programs, and then on the basis of other educational grants.

In particular, the World Bank, within the framework of the project “Modernization of Higher Education Institutions in Uzbekistan” of the Academic Innovation Fund “Creating a modern center of online education (MCOLE)” for maintenance, commissioning and creation of massive open online courses (MOOC) under a contract 2/6, in December 2018 year, 50,000 (fifty thousand) US dollars were introduced into our university project.

The project involves representatives of Spanish universities (UC), who agreed a cooperation in framework our project as foreign partner universities.

In the course of fulfilling project obligations, 3 participants of the UrSU project (expert teacher, technical coordinator, technical specialists) at the Center for New Technologies (CeFONT) at the Spanish University of Cantabria (UC) improved their skills in July 2019 during the week.

As a result of constant scientific and practical contacts with UC of Spain, on May 18, 20, 22 - May 2020, a series of video conferences were organized between UrSU and UC using online ZOOM, given the fact that their representatives cannot come to Uzbekistan in a pandemic period.

At the end of the videoconferencing, representatives of UC agreed to regularly advise the MCOLE -Center to ensure continued cooperation in discussions with UrSU.

Scientists, researchers, masters and bachelors from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Spain and Portugal took part in an online video conference for 3 days, and their average number was more than 150 per day.

In order to further expand the content of these international conferences, on May 22, from 12:00 to 13:00 local time, a republican scientific-practical conference "Theory and Practice of the Creation of MOOC" was held.

The conference speakers were Vohid Khamidov, Associate Professor, Head of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, one of the leading scientists in this field, with topic “State and Prospects of Development of MOOC”, Elmira Nazirova Professor, Department of Multimedia Technologies, Tashkent University of Information Technology, with topic “Open online  educational resources and their importance in the educational process”, associate Professor of Urgench State University Gayrat Matlatipov with topic: “Introduction of distance learning technologies in Urgench State University, development of electronic courses”,  technic coordinator of project, Hasiyat Shihova with topic “Creation of modernized MOOC training center” as well as representatives of secondary educational and preschool educational institutions. Of course, this online conference was an experimental school for innovative, enthusiastic teachers working in all forms of training in order to apply innovative methods in their work.

The conferences were attended by representatives of higher and secondary educational and preschool institutions of Uzbekistan.

Now, innovators, teachers, professors in cooperation with the specialists of the Center, have the opportunity to create massive open online courses in Uzbek, Russian and foreign languages ​​and place them in regional, national and international educational Network.

These efforts of the Center will undoubtedly increase the attractiveness of the university in the process of teaching and learning and lay the foundation for our university to take its place in the world university ranking agencies Times Higher Education (THE).
