The history of Physical Education faculty

The Faculty of Physical Culture was established on September 2, 1999. From 1999 to 2006 Professor G.M. Satipov, from 2006 to 2009 Associate Professor U.L.Matnazarov, from 2009 to 2019 Associate Professor A.K.Sharipov served as dean of the faculty. From 2019 to the present, Associate Professor S.U.Kupalov has been working as the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture. Initially, when the faculty was formed, 3 departments were part of the faculty; Department of "Human Anatomy and Physiology", "Theory and Methods of Physical Education" and "General Physical Education". In 2011, the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology was renamed the Department of Fundamentals of Medical Education and the Department of General Physical Education was renamed the Department of Physical Education and Sports. The Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge) was founded in 1999. In 1999-2006, Associate Professor E.Y.Kushchanov, Associate Professor Z.Ametov, Associate Professor K.Djumaniyazov, in 2006-2011, Professor G.M.Satipov In 2011-2015, Associate Professor H.Bekchanov worked as the head of the department. At the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education in 1999-2010, Associate Professor M.M.Raximov worked. F.T.Masharipov headed the department. The name of the department was changed in September 2015 to the Theory and Methods of Physical Culture and was headed by Associate Professor SU Kopalov, since March 2018 the department is headed by Associate Professor U.L.Matnazarov. At the Department of General Physical Education (Physical Culture and Sports) in 1999-2006 Associate Professor U.L.Matnazarov, in 2006-2009 Ph.D. V.Sh. Rakhimov, in 2009-2015, associate professor U.L.Matnazarov was the head of the department. The name of the department was changed from September 2015 to the Department of Interfaculty Physical Culture and Sports, and until September 2020, the department was headed by Associate Professor B.J.Yadgarov. The name of the department was changed in September 2020 to the name of Sports Activity and is headed by Associate Professor F.T.Masharipov.
Since 2020, the faculty has two departments: "Theory and Methods of Physical Culture" and "Sports Activity". Initially, the faculty prepared 5141900 bachelors in full-time and part-time departments in the field of physical education and physical culture. In 2005, the specialty 5A141901 - Physical Education and Physical Culture Education was opened and 6 masters were admitted to it. From the 2011-2012 academic year, bachelors in 5112000-Physical Culture Education were accepted. From the 2013-2014 academic year, in order to develop physical culture and sports in remote areas, to train female coaches for local girls to go in for sports, the Faculty of Physical Culture of Urgench State University will conduct 5610535 sports activities (development of women's sports). The students were admitted to study. Based on the needs of staff in children's and youth sports schools, secondary schools, colleges, newly built sports complexes in Khorezm region, students of this field of study are divided into 4 sports: Judo, Athletics, Volleyball , Focused on handball sports.

The Faculty of Physical Culture is currently training qualified teachers and coaches in the field of physical culture for general secondary schools, academic lyceums and vocational colleges, sports schools for children and adolescents. From the 2001-2002 academic year, the faculty moved to a newly built academic building. The new building has a modern gym, classrooms and fully equipped facilities. The faculty building was included in the PQ-1533 program and was renovated in 2014.
All facilities are created for students to play sports during and after school hours: 2 large gyms (18x36), one football field in the open field, athletics treadmill, long jump field, 2 core races. there is a dog pitch, 2 artificial turf mini football, 1 basketball, 1 volleyball court, 1 tennis court and 1 gymnastics court. In particular, the classrooms for sports games and theory and methodology of physical culture in the educational building are adequately equipped with visual aids and instructions, electronic boards and projectors. The faculty has all the conditions for professors to conduct the educational process on the basis of new pedagogical and information technologies. The faculty has 1 computer and 1 language room, all computers are connected to the Internet and texts of lectures, textbooks and manuals on the subjects specified in the curriculum are entered in electronic form.
The Faculty of Physical Culture has published 5 monographs, more than 10 textbooks and more than 100 scientific articles. In addition, professors and teachers of our faculty are actively involved in fundamental, practical and innovative projects. In 2012-2013, the faculty under the State Science and Technology Program under the leadership of Associate Professor A.K.Sharipov conducted an innovative project on IOT-2012-1-22 - "Innovative technologies to improve the professional training of physical education." As a result of the research, 5 scientific articles, 1 textbook, 1 monograph, 1 electronic manual were published.
From 2006 to 2012, a total of 11 faculty members defended their PhD dissertations in pedagogical sciences on the basis of independent research. In 2020, senior teachers of the department "Theory and Methods of Physical Culture" N.K.Ruzmetov and J.Sh.Jammatov on the basis of independent research 13.00.04. - Successfully defended his doctoral (PhD) dissertation in pedagogy, specializing in the theory and methods of physical education and sports.
In order to carry out a high level of physical culture, sports and public health at the University, to effectively address all the tasks set by the state in this regard, to increase the popularity of sports among students and staff to further strengthen the successful conduct of the Universiade and other sporting events In 1999, the student sports club "Student" was founded on a community basis. Athletes of our university are the main part of the national team of our region at the Universiade. Our national team took the 11th place at the Universiade-2000 in Namangan, at the Universiade-2002 in Bukhara and at the Universiade-2004 in Samarkand. Ranked 8th. He took 8th place at the Universiade-2007 in Tashkent and the Universiade-2013 in Bukhara. At the Universiade-2016 in Fergana, the team of Urgench State University took the honorary 7th place among the higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Students of our faculty successfully participate not only in sports competitions, but also in the Republican Science Olympiads. In particular, in the Republican Science Olympiad on "Theory and methods of physical education" held at the Uzbek State Institute of Physical Culture in 2012 D.Yakubova took 3rd place, in 2013 S.Matniyazov took 2nd place. occupied. In 2012-2013, A.Madaminov took the 2nd place, and in 2015, L.Abdurahmanov took the 3rd place in the Republican Olympiad in Zoology, which is a non-specialty subject, held at the Samarkand Agricultural Institute. Atajonova Gulyor Komiljon qizi, a student of our faculty, was awarded the State Prize named after Zulfiya for outstanding achievements in sports.
During 1999-2020, the faculty produced more than 10 masters of sports of international class, more than 100 masters of sports and hundreds of candidates for masters of sports. Muradjan Kholmuradov participated in the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London in 2012 for the first time, and by 2016 the number of participants has increased. D.Urazbayev, Sh.Sabirov, G.Matniyazova took part in the XXXI Summer Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Diyorbek Urozbayev won a bronze medal in the weight category of 60 kg in judo. Sevinch Salaeva (-52 kg) and Tursunpashsha Nurmetova (-63 kg) also won bronze medals at the XV Paralympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). In addition, 7 students of the Faculty of Physical Culture of UrSU took part in the V Asian Games in Martial Arts and Indoor Games on September 17-27, 2017 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. 3 girls from National Wrestling, 2 students from Weightlifting, 1 student from Taekwondo and 1 student from Sombo won prizes. About 10 student-athletes of our faculty are successfully participating in high-level training sessions and international competitions for participation in the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.
