On June 23 of this year, the ceremony of presenting the "President's gift" to the winners and prize-winners of the Republican final round of the sports competition "Universiade - 2022" among students of higher educational institutions was held at the Turkestan Palace of Arts in Tashkent.

It was attended by officials headed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Sarvarkhan Buzrukkhanov, heads of partner organizations, ministries and departments, and participants of the competition.

It is worth mentioning that this year's Universiade-2022 sports competitions were organized on the basis of a new order, unlike the previous ones. The republican final rounds of the competitions in 15 sports were held alternately at a high level in all regions of the republic for 10 months from September 5, 2022 to May 31, 2023.

A total of 96,683 students took part in the competitions and fiercely fought for the victory in individual and team competitions. According to the final result, the team of Khorezm region won the proud 2nd place in the overall results of the Universiade - 2022 sports competitions.

A group of young athletes of Urganch State University, who took an active part in the process of these competitions as part of the team of Khorezm region, participated in the ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners under the leadership of the rector of the university, Bakhrom Abdullayev.

At the awarding ceremony, our team was awarded a "President's gift" certificate worth 175,000,000 soums.

The festive event was again graced with songs performed by well-known singers of our republic.
