A Day of Respect and Recognition: Defender of the Motherland Day Celebrated on a Grand Scale at the University

Today, on the occasion of “January 14 — Defender of the Motherland Day,” a festive event filled with high spirits and sincere respect was held at Urgench State University. In accordance with tradition, the celebration honored the male staff members who are an integral part of the university’s leadership and community, with special recognition given to their dedicated and selfless service.

During the event, active female professors and lecturers from the University Women’s Advisory Council, as well as veteran educators who have devoted many years to the cause of education and upbringing, took the floor to speak about the spiritual significance of the holiday. They emphasized that the concept of defending the Motherland is not limited solely to military service, but also includes every man who approaches his profession with devotion and deeply feels responsibility toward his family and society — thus being a true defender of the Motherland.

The sincere wishes, warm words, and kind intentions expressed to the male collective shared a festive spirit with everyone and added a special atmosphere to the event. This meaningful date has become not only a ceremonial holiday for the university community, but also a noble tradition that further strengthens mutual respect, unity, and care.
