The President’s directive in practice

At a video conference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 23 of the current year, a task was set to develop master plans for 903 “challenging” mahallas across the republic.

Within the framework of implementing this important directive, practical activities were launched by Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni.

A total of 987 graduating students and young researchers specializing in architecture, construction, and economics from the university, as well as from leading higher education institutions of the republic in the fields of architecture and construction engineering, were assigned to 141 mahallas in the region.

Currently, the students, working in a specially established штаб (coordination center) in cooperation with responsible organizations, are preparing practical proposals for the development of master plans for the mahallas. The proposals place particular emphasis on improving infrastructure, addressing construction and energy issues, and developing agriculture, entrepreneurship, and the service sector.

Today, in order to review the progress of these activities, the Acting Rector of the University, S.Khodjaniyazov, visited the “Zarbdor” mahalla of Kushkupir district and became acquainted with the projects and proposals developed by the students. The students presented their ideas through presentations.

This initiative not only contributes to the development of mahallas but also serves as an important platform for gaining practical experience for students and young people within the framework of dual education.
