The “Young Orators” Contest Dedicated to the Birth Anniversary of Poet Zulfiya

Today, on March 4, the Faculty of Philology and Arts of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni hosted another round of the traditional “Young Orators” contest dedicated to the 111th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding representative of Uzbek literature, the renowned poet Zulfiya.

Six students of the university took part in the contest and demonstrated their eloquence and public speaking skills through two competition stages. Notably, international students also actively participated in the event.

In the first stage, participants introduced themselves by presenting information in either poetic or prose form. In the second stage, they answered previously prepared questions, demonstrating their knowledge, quick thinking, and intellectual abilities. Each stage was evaluated by a panel of judges, who paid special attention to the students’ oratory skills, creative approach, and communication culture.

During the event, students from group 242 of the “Philology and Language Teaching: Uzbek Language” program performed musical pieces, graceful dances, and stage performances, which created a festive atmosphere for the audience. Each artistic performance reflected the spiritual world of Zulfiya Isroilova’s work and revealed the richness of her literary heritage.

At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Arts, Professor D.Ghayipov, emphasized the high level of organization of the contest and praised the talents of the young orators. The winners and active participants were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts.

The “Young Orators” contest is not only a platform for discovering talented speakers but also an important initiative that fosters creative thinking, cultural awareness, and the spiritual development of students.
