Delegation from Liaoning Province of the People’s Republic of China Visits Urgench State University
On April 29, a delegation from Liaoning Province of the People’s Republic of China visited Urgench State University.
At the beginning, official negotiations were held with the participation of Zhao Hunbin, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Liaoning Province, Li Yujun, Vice-Rector of Liaoning Pedagogical University, and representatives of the university, as well as a representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Rector of the university, Feruza Madrahimova.
During the negotiations, Rector F.Madrahimova emphasized that cooperation between Urgench State University and leading higher education institutions in China has been steadily developing. It was also noted that the establishment of a branch of Liaoning Pedagogical University in the city of Khiva is of great importance for developing the higher education system in line with international standards, and the university is always ready for cooperation in this regard. Particular attention was given to the fact that the Confucius Institute, being established jointly with UrSU, plays an important role not only in foreign language education but also in fostering intercultural development.
The parties reached agreements to expand cooperation in the fields of psychology, philology, and engineering, as well as to organize exchanges of faculty members and students.
During the visit, the delegation became acquainted with the activities of the university’s Information Resource Center, the University History Museum, and the China Center, and also observed classes attended by Chinese students.
In the second half of the day, the delegation visited the construction site of the Liaoning Pedagogical University branch being built in the city of Khiva, where they reviewed the campus project and infrastructure. Important issues related to organizing the educational process at the branch, student admissions, and examination systems were discussed during the meeting.
The delegation members also visited the “Ichan Kala” complex in the ancient city of Khiva and became closely acquainted with the unique historical and cultural heritage of Khorezm.
