The "Five initiatives olympiad" sports competitions have kicked off at UrSU.

Today, the opening ceremony of the 2026 season of mass sports competitions within the framework of the “Five Initiatives Olympiad”, held among students studying at higher education institutions, took place at Abu Rayhan Biruni Urgench State University.

The ceremony was attended by the university’s First vice-rector Sh. Allaberganov, Adviser to the rector A.Shakarov, dean of the Faculty of sports activities O.Matnazarov and the faculty staff, deputy Chairman of the UrSU Sports club M.Raximov, as well as head of the “Five initiatives” center M.Erimbetov.

During the event, the importance of the work being carried out to promote sports among young people, organize their leisure time meaningfully, promote a healthy lifestyle, and identify students’ talents and abilities in sports was emphasized.

Following this, the sports competitions within the framework of the “Five Initiatives Olympiad” were officially launched.

Within the framework of the Olympiad, students are competing in 5 sports — mini-football, table tennis, volleyball (men and women), athletics, and streetball.

At present, the competitions are continuing with great intensity. Student-youth are taking part in the contests with high spirits, strong determination, and a healthy competitive spirit, demonstrating their sporting skills.
