UI GreenMetric 2025: Universities of Uzbekistan have entered the TOP-1000 in the world. The official results of the 2025 “UI GreenMetric” ranking have been announced.
Among the educational institutions included in the world’s most prestigious “green” university ranking, the universities of Uzbekistan have also demonstrated worthy results.
This year, 1,745 universities from 105 countries were evaluated in this ranking. Seventy-nine higher education institutions from Uzbekistan participated, 38 of which ranked among the TOP-1000 universities worldwide. This reflects the effectiveness of the reforms carried out in our country in the fields of ecology, environmental protection, and the development of science and education in these areas.
The Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni participated in this ranking for the second consecutive year, demonstrating improvement in sustainable development and environmental protection indicators. In 2024, the university ranked 949th, and in 2025 it rose to 803rd place.

The achievement of our university is clear evidence of the effectiveness of multifaceted efforts aimed at elevating the national education system to international standards and promoting Uzbek universities to join the ranks of the world’s leading higher education institutions.
