“Wooden Bridge” — A Creative and Constructive Competition for Young Engineers

On December 18 of this year, an engaging and competition-filled event titled “Wooden Bridge” was held at the Faculty of Engineering of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. The contest, initiated by the Department of Construction, focused on creating bridge models using wooden sticks.

A total of 8 teams participated in the competition, each consisting of 5 students who competed against one another. The event was significant in that it aimed to develop students’ engineering thinking, creative approaches, and the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills.

On December 19, a prize-awarding ceremony for the “Wooden Bridge” competition, dedicated to the creation of bridge models from wooden sticks, was held on the initiative of the Department of Construction of the Faculty of Engineering.

All projects were evaluated by the judging panel based on technical solutions, creativity, and practical approach, and the most deserving teams were declared winners. The winners and active participants were awarded valuable prizes.

1st place — students of the 221 program “Production of Construction Materials, Products, and Structures”;
2nd place — students of the 221 program “Construction of Buildings and Structures”;
3rd place — students of the 231 program “Production of Construction Materials, Products, and Structures”.

This competition played an important role for students by allowing them to demonstrate their knowledge and potential, strengthen teamwork skills, and build a solid foundation for their future professional careers.
