Prospects for Cooperation Between UrSU and Kanazawa University Discussed

On December 22, an online meeting was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni  (UrSU) with representatives of Kanazawa University of Japan. The meeting was attended by Acting Rector of UrSU S.Khodjaniyazov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Gh.Orazboyev, deans of relevant faculties, heads of departments and divisions, as well as Vice President of Kanazawa University Noriko Hasebe, Head of the International Office Hiroshi Yamamoto, and Professor Aida Mammadova.

During the meeting, the parties became closely acquainted with one another and exchanged views on establishing and developing cooperation between the higher education institutions. In particular, issues such as faculty and student exchange, the establishment of scientific cooperation between faculties, and the implementation of joint research projects were discussed. At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to gradually implement practical cooperation in these areas.

It should be noted that this online meeting was organized as a result of the visit of the Khorezm regional delegation to Japan in November of this year. Within the framework of that visit, alongside various sectors of the economy, special attention was paid to cooperation in the field of education. In particular, Acting Rector of UrSU S.Khodjaniyazov, as part of the regional delegation, visited Kanazawa University, where he became closely acquainted with the educational process, research activities, and international cooperation experience of the institution. The current meeting is a logical continuation of the dialogue initiated during that visit and serves to bring cooperation between the two higher education institutions to a practical stage.

For reference, Kanazawa University was founded in 1862 and was officially established as a university in 1949. The university has more than 10,000 students and employs around 1,200 faculty members and researchers.
