Professional Development Seminars for Tutors Launched at Urgench State University


On January 7–8 of the current year, seminar-training sessions aimed at improving the knowledge and professional skills of tutors are being held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni.

On the first day of the seminar, the Acting Rector of the university, S.Khodjaniyazov, took part and spoke in detail about the role, responsibility, and priority tasks of tutoring activities in today’s higher education system. In his speech, the rector emphasized that tutors, in their work with students, serve not only as advisors but also as mentors and an essential part of the educational and moral development process.

In addition, First Vice-Rector D.Ibadullayev delivered a lecture on the topic “Issues of Increasing the Effectiveness of Spiritual and Educational Work in the Higher Education System,” while Rector’s Advisor A.Shakarov presented a report on “The Essence and Nature of Extremism, Fanaticism, and Radicalism.”

The Head of the Compliance Control Department for Anti-Corruption, X.Shikhova, provided detailed information to tutors on the procedure for participating in free online distance learning courses organized via the https://virtual.proacademy.uz/higher-education/
 platform, aimed at enhancing their anti-corruption knowledge.

In the second part of the seminar, presentations were delivered by:
Head of the HEMIS Department M. Habibullayev on “Creating a Personal Account in the HEMIS Information System”;
practicing psychologist Sh. Madraximova on “Cooperation with Tutors in Forming the Psychological Profile of Students”;
Registrar’s Office specialist X. Sobirov on “Placement in Student Dormitories through the Billing System”;
and Prevention Inspector M. Bobojonov on “Regulatory and Legal Foundations for Crime Prevention and the Prevention of Offenses.”

Additionally, the Chairman of the University Tutors’ Council, R. Matchanov, spoke on the topic “General Functions and Responsibilities of the Tutoring System,” while the leader of the primary organization of the Youth Union, M. Yaqubov, explained the procedure for organizing financial support for students admitted to the university on a fee-based (contract) basis upon the recommendation of military unit commanders after completing compulsory military service, in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-213 dated October 31, 2005.

The seminar was attended by deputy deans for youth affairs of all university faculties and tutors.
