On January 7 at 2:00 p.m., a regular scientific-theoretical seminar was held in Room 447 of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, Faculty of Foreign Philology, Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.


During the seminar, the issue of the representation of realia in the work “Uzbek Legends and Stories”, translated into Uzbek by Jahongir Sanaqulov, was discussed.

The seminar was attended by the faculty members of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology.

A presentation was delivered by department lecturer Hasanbek Ilhomboyevich Jumaniyozov, who gave a detailed overview of methods for preserving national and cultural realia in translation, including explanatory translation, adaptation, and functional equivalence. The artistic and linguocultural significance of realia was illustrated through scholarly examples.

It was emphasized that this topic holds significant scientific and practical value for research in the fields of translation studies and linguocultural studies.
