Urganch State University Celebrates Its 90th Anniversary on a Grand Scale

Today, a ceremonial event was held to mark the 90th anniversary of Urganch State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni.

The ceremony was opened by the Acting Rector, S.Khodjaniyozov. Following this, the Deputy Governor of Khorezm Region, S.Salayev read out the holiday greetings of regional governor J.Rakhimov. The Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Healthcare of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, B.Abdullayev, also took part in the event. In his speech, he particularly acknowledged the university’s honorable 90-year history, its achievements in the fields of science and enlightenment, its efforts to improve the quality of education, and its достойный contribution to the development of education and science in the country.

The celebration was attended by representatives of various higher education institutions across the country, partner organizations, as well as the university’s international partners and guests.

On the occasion of the anniversary, a documentary video prepared by the university’s Information Service was presented, reflecting the institution’s rich and distinguished history.

During the event, a group of professors and teachers of the university were ceremonially awarded Letters of Appreciation and Certificates of Honor on behalf of the Governor of Khorezm Region, J. Rahimov, and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Healthcare, B. Abdullayev.

Congratulatory speeches were also delivered by the heads of higher education institutions, including the Rector of Tashkent University of Information Technologies B. Makhkamov; the Rector of Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh B.Jonlibekov; the Rector of Urgench State Medical Institute R.Ro‘ziboyev; the Vice-Rector of Alfraganus University Z.Rakhmatullayev; and the First Vice-Rector of Nukus State Pedagogical Institute Q.Qodirov. They sincerely congratulated the university community on its 90th anniversary.

Representatives of various higher education institutions, leaders of partner organizations, and guests from foreign partner universities also extended their congratulations, highlighting the university’s achievements in education, science, and international cooperation.

A 90-year history represents strong traditions, a rich scientific heritage, and a confident step toward a bright future.
