Enlightenment Against Ignorance — Protecting the Minds of Youth

Today, on February 17, a spiritual and educational meeting was organized at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni on the topics “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” and “The Priority of Human Dignity and Rights as the Foundation of Development.”

The event was attended by the First Vice-Rector of the university D.Ibadullayev, Rector’s Advisor A.Shakarov, specialist of the Urgench District Committee on Religious Affairs O.Polvanov, officer of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Urgench District Department of Internal Affairs J.Zaripov, Advisor to the Urgench District Hokim on Spirituality and State Language Issues Sh.Ramanova, as well as head of one of the district departments G.Jabborova, who delivered speeches.

During the meeting, comprehensive discussions were held on combating ignorance and various alien ideologies through enlightenment, strengthening national and universal values in the minds of young people, and promoting respect for human rights and freedoms. It was particularly emphasized that the priority of human dignity and rights is an essential factor in societal development.

Indeed, in today’s era of globalization, ideological attacks and various destructive ideas occurring worldwide pose a serious threat to the minds and future of young people. It is impossible to imagine our lives without the internet. Of course, the internet offers vast and beneficial opportunities; however, its misuse may lead to various negative consequences. During the meeting, special attention was given to the culture of internet use and to protecting young people from alien ideologies, extremist movements, drug abuse, and destructive propaganda carried out under the guise of religion.
