On April 30, the official opening ceremony of the first Uzbekistan-Belarus professional education forum was held in the building of the National Library in Minsk. In it, the leaders of higher and professional educational institutions of both sides listened to reports on prospects and possibilities of cooperation in the field of personnel training, improvement of the quality of professional education, and exchanged views on intensifying relations. Rector of Urgench State University Bakhrom Abdullayev also spoke at the opening ceremony.

As part of the opening ceremony, an agreement was signed between Urgench State University and Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala aimed at establishing academic mobility.
 
This contract envisages the formation and selection of a list of students for the implementation of the "Academic Mobility" program, and the sending of talented students of the university to a foreign trip to participate in the training courses of the Grodno State University named after Yanki Kupala.
