The First Meeting of the Public Council Held at Urgench State University

Today, on July 29, 2025, the first meeting of the Public Council was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. This council was established by the university rector’s order No. 242 in order to implement the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation’s order No. 86.

The meeting was chaired by the university’s First Vice-Rector, D.Ibodullayev, and attended by council members and public representatives. During the meeting, reports from responsible officials on key agenda items were heard.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting:

The purpose of establishing the Council, its main tasks, and future directions of activity;
Efforts carried out to foster a healthy spiritual environment at the university and to prevent corruption;
The financial and economic performance of Urgench State University for the first half of 2025;
In addition, views were exchanged on other urgent and organizational matters.

It is worth noting that the Public Council includes not only university representatives but also a wide range of public figures working in various fields. This clearly reflects the university’s commitment to transparency, openness, and active collaboration with the community.
