A new edition of the museum, the Karvak Memorial Book.

This scientific and popular book was prepared for publication on the basis of the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 8, 2020 No. F-5598 "On further study of the legacy of repression victims and additional measures to perpetuate their memory".
The book describes the life and tragic fate of the victims of repression in Hazorasp district of Khorezm region. The information in the book is based on the memories of generations of victims of Karvak repression. We tried to supplement the information with various archival documents and works.
The National Archives of Uzbekistan, the State Archives of Khorezm Region, the archives of the Memorial Museum of Repression Victims in the structure of Urganch State University, the personal archives of the people of the village of Karvak, oral history materials and other documents were used to create this book. After entering the Repression Victims Memorial Museum under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and getting acquainted with the exhibition, he expressed his thoughts: "It is not for nothing that we come here every time and pay attention. Achieving independence was not easy. Although it has been 31 years since our independence, our grandfathers tried to do this 100 years ago. 100,000 of our compatriots were repressed and 13,000 were brutally shot. Why? There was an analysis. They were our greatest heroes, the treasure of the nation. He knows 2-3 languages. They knew that it would liberate our country and bring it to development. It is as if their voices are heard here. If I had a piece of paper in the whole world, no matter how much money I spent, I gave you an assignment to find documents belonging to the Uzbek nation. How many more victims of repression have been identified in recent years. From the point of view of justice, we are restoring the names of our heroic grandfathers. Over the past year, 235 such compatriots were acquitted by the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan. We are establishing museums and schools in the name of our great-grandfathers. We built Abdulla Qadiri school and installed his statue in the center of Tashkent. Why? People should see their past, think "whose descendants am I" and know their works. Or how difficult it was to restore the Shepherd? Today we are saying to get down, go inside the people, we are getting strength from the people. The shepherd also said so. Such good deeds should not be stopped. It is necessary to release new books and films."
The head of our state emphasized that this history has not been studied to the end, and research on identifying and restoring the memory of the victims of repression should be continued. Therefore, we can say that this book is a continuation of the meritorious works being carried out in our country.
In order to collect material for this book, by going from house to house in the village of Karvak, those who were deported to Siberia during the years of repression of the authoritarian Soviet regime, shot, imprisoned, and deported to barren lands were identified. The children and close relatives of the victims of repression were spoken to one by one.
Karvak will go down in history as the village that suffered the most from the repression. During the years of repression, the people of Karvak did not say for nothing: "O God, the people of knowledge, the mullah and the eshan have come to an end." Most of the villagers were physically destroyed. Prisoners of institutions in the GULAG system were crippled by the terrible tortures. Family members and children of those who were repressed were humiliated, tortured, their houses were demolished or displaced.
As we inquire about the life of the oppressive winters, we meet each other with sad fates. Hearing the sufferings of the victims makes you sleepless. Research shows that almost all of them were innocent. We think you, dear readers, will like it and find a place on your bookshelf.
The book was published under the auspices of Khorezm region hokimity. We express our gratitude to Khorezm regional government for supporting this noble and meritorious project. In this blessed month of Ramadan, may the people who closely helped and supported us to cover this honorable and hard-working history, increase their merits!
