The World Bank provides grants of up to 600,000 US dollars to finance scientific projects

On December 5, 7, 12, and 14, the World Bank under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the "Research Commercialization Program ( A practical seminar dedicated to the competition grant program was held. In total, more than 500 scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, start-ups, constructors-inventors, information technology specialists participated in the seminars organized in online and offline forms at the INNO technology park.

The purpose of the RCP program is to finance projects aimed at commercialization of the results of scientific research and development at the stage of creating a business concept and a small-scale prototype; is consulting support for projects with commercialization potential.

International experts of the World Bank participated with lectures as key speakers.

These seminars provide an overview of the RCP program and cover issues such as application submission, review, and grant terms and conditions.

Basic terms of the BIRD program:

Grant amount - up to $600,000 for 1 project;

Project duration and geography - up to 24 months, in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

Joint financing - the presence of an investor is required, the size of the investment must be at least 25% of the grant amount (the source of financing can be an industrial partner, a financial partner or own funds);

Thematic areas are not limited, projects can be interdisciplinary;

Applicant - scientific and technical manager of the project, natural person (citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan is required);

The project team should have a business development specialist.
