A Seminar on Developing Curricula in Accordance with International Standards Held at Urgench State University

Today, June 26, a training seminar was organized at Urgench State University for vice-rectors for academic affairs, heads of academic-methodical departments, faculty deans, and department heads from five state higher education institutions in the region. The seminar was held to ensure the implementation of the tasks outlined in Clause 9.2 of Protocol No. 93 of the extended meeting of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 26, 2024.

According to this clause, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the curricula for upper-year courses in higher education institutions are to be developed and approved based on the educational programs of foreign higher education institutions ranked in the TOP-300 in international rankings.

At the seminar, Alijon Khojayev, a representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, provided participants with detailed information about the contents of the protocol, the tasks set within it, and the procedures for working with curricula from top-ranked international universities.

The seminar focused on preparations for the 2025/2026 academic year. Participants discussed how to familiarize themselves with the curricula of TOP-300 ranked foreign universities and how to integrate those programs into their own academic processes. Issues such as organizing high-quality teaching, providing methodological support, and introducing innovative approaches were also addressed. Recommendations were given on how to study the methodologies of top international universities and adapt them to the national education system.

At the end of the seminar, participants exchanged views on the development of modern and internationally compliant academic programs.
