The 11th Meeting of the Council of Urgench State University Named After Abu Rayhon Biruni Was Held


Today, on June 28, the final meeting for the 2024–2025 academic year of the Council of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni was held. The Council meeting was chaired by the Acting Rector of the University, S.Khodjaniyazov, and attended by members of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, following tradition, the Chair of the Council acknowledged the university staff’s achievements. In particular, diplomas were awarded to faculty members who had earned Doctor of Science (DSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, as well as those who had received the academic titles of Associate Professor and Professor from the Higher Attestation Commission. They were also wished continued success in their future scientific work. Additionally, Elchinbek Isoyev, a university student and the third-place winner of the Republican Olympiad in Chemistry, was awarded a diploma in recognition of his academic activity.

Following this, reports and presentations from responsible officials on the agenda items were heard.

At the 11th meeting of the Council of Urgench State University, reports and information on the following agenda items were presented:

Political updates;
Implementation of the Resolution No. PQ-135 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 26, 2023, "On Additional Measures for the Rapid Development of the Republic’s Tourism Potential and Further Increase in the Number of Domestic and Foreign Tourists" within the university;
Fulfillment of teaching loads by professors and lecturers for the 2024–2025 academic year and the allocation of staff positions for the new academic year;
Activities carried out in the first half of 2025 concerning the implementation of the Law "On Appeals of Individuals and Legal Entities" at the university;
Provision of new-generation textbooks, teaching aids, and electronic resources to university students during the current academic year;
Implementation of the resolutions of the University Council for the 2024–2025 academic year.

In addition, miscellaneous issues and elections were also included in the Council’s agenda.
