Friendly Competitions Were Held Between Urgench State University and the Nukus Branch of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport

Today, on December 12, a large-scale event aimed at strengthening friendship and unity among youth through sports was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni within the framework of the “Month of Interethnic Harmony.” The friendly competitions titled “Sport — the Ambassador of Friendship,” organized in cooperation with the Nukus branch of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport, were held in mini-football, badminton, table tennis, and chess.

First, the student athletes of the Nukus branch of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport were ceremoniously welcomed. This was followed by the official opening ceremony of the competitions. Welcoming speeches were delivered by the First Vice-Rector of Urgench State University, D.Ibadullayev, Deputy Chairman of the Sports Club M.Rahimov, and the First Vice-Rector of the Nukus branch of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport, G.Khojametov, who wished the participants success and high achievements.

The competitions were held in a spirit of friendly rivalry between students of the two higher education institutions — Urgench State University and the Nukus branch of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport — in mini-football, badminton, table tennis, and chess.

Each competition contributed not only to physical fitness but also to strengthening mutual respect, friendship, and sports culture.

Within the framework of the “Month of Interethnic Harmony,” following the sports events aimed at fostering friendship and unity among youth, an artistic program titled “Sport — the Ambassador of Friendship” was held. During the event, musical performances, stage presentations, and compositions promoting the ideas of friendship and harmony by creative students from both universities left a strong impression on the audience. The performances vividly demonstrated the unifying and uplifting power of sport.

In addition, throughout the day, deserving prizes were awarded to the teams and students who emerged victorious in the mini-football, badminton, table tennis, and chess competitions.
