Department of Russian language and literature
The Department of Russian Language and Literature was established in 1938 under the Khorezm Institute of Teachers, and in 1944, the educational institution was transformed into the State Unified Institute of Pedagogy and Teachers. In the 60s, the faculty of history and philology was established under the KhDPI, later it was named the faculty of Russian language and literature, the faculty of Russian philology. Since 2015, the Department of Russian Language and Literature has been under the jurisdiction of the Faculty of Philology.
More than 600 students are studying in the department; they are graduates of Russian and Uzbek schools. Ruzmetov Surojbek Allaberganovich heads the department.
In this academic year, 36 professors-teachers are working in the department (33 of them are in the main staff). From these;
Doctors of Science - 1, Professors - 1, Candidates of Science - 11, Associate Professors - 9, Senior Teachers - 6, Assistants - 9. In the last three years, all professors and teachers of the department participated in professional development courses.
Currently, four professors-teachers are conducting scientific work in the department. Mainly in the direction of "comparative literary studies, cross-linguistics and translation studies". In recent years, professors and teachers of the department have published more than a hundred scientific articles (more than ten of them in prestigious foreign journals), three monographs, one collection of teachers' articles, and 12 scientific and methodological articles.
Currently, the department cooperates with Astrakhan State University, Smolensk State University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Udmurtia State University, Omsk State University, and St. Petersburg State University.
Eight professors and teachers of the department actively participated in online training courses organized by the initiative of St. Petersburg State University.
Three professors-teachers were invited to St. Petersburg State University to participate in the presentation ceremony of professional development courses.
