History of Soil sciencechair

"Soil science" сhair is created in 2008 on the based of “Sustainable development and ecological education” chair at the initiative of UNESCO, Uzbekistan and also decision of scientific council of Urgench State University (protocol №1. 28.08.2008).
In 2008-2011 head of chair was ass-prof. A.Rahimov, and nowadays he has been working as a assistant-professor at the technical faculty. In that time chair had honourable professor Pol Vlek - UNESCO Uzbekistan, the adviser on “Science and education of sustainable development”, Abdukadir Ergashev - Dr.of Biological science, professor and academician, a member of academy of sciences on ecological security of United Nations, and a member of academy of sciences on world antique history. And also teachers and professors A.Rahimov, Z.Sadullaeva, G.Yakubov, D.Mahmudova, M.Duschanova. In all faculties of the university, they have been teaching on subjects of “ecology and nature protection”, “the modern concept of natural science”, “a basics of natural sciences” and “security of life science”. Since 2009,at the chair opened bachelor speciality on “Biogeochemistry and soil protection of erosion”. During these times in chairs there were 3 professors (Ergashev А, Ibragimov N, Egamberdiev R), 2 PhD candidates, and are increased scientific potential of chair. 
Under the supervision of UNESCO, Uzbekistan, there was research experiment on cultivation of tropical plant “Indigo” in the degraded soils of Khorezm region. In 2012, this research experiment were carried out under the supervision of academic A.Ergashev. The results of these research, successfully defended PhD thesis by Yakubov Gayrat Kuvondikovich on the theme of “Agroecological and agrotechnological properties of Indigoferatinctoriya L. cultivation in the degraded soils of Khorezm region”, on a speciality 06.01.09-Crop plants.In 2009, at the chair opened speciality of “Biogeochemistry and soil protection”. During these time in the chair had 10 teachers, 3 of them professors, 2 of them PhD and 8 teachers. In 2010, into this chair included the chair of "Farming" and bachelor students have prepared on a speciality of “Biogeochemistry and soil protection”, "Agronomy" and "Soil science". 
In 2011,the chair has opened new direction of professional education on speciality of “Ecology and nature protection”. During these time in the chair had 18 teachers and professors. In April, 2011 head of chair was Dr. Ramatov B, and now he works as a doctor. In 2012 has opened professional education on speciality of "Agronomy" and "Soil science". In the end of 2012 head of chair was Dr. P.Kamolov and now working as doctor. During these times, the chair had worked 6 international research projects (UNESCO, ICARDA, GEF/SGP, GIZ) and 5 local research grant projects in different subjects, various partnership contracts. 
In 2008-2012 years, 6 students from the chair have sent abroad to study (from LOGO program), and another 6 students have sent to Germany and 2 of them in the moment working in chair. In order to this, R.Ruzmetov and N.Matkarimov have qualified in China, O.Nurmetova and F.Nurmetova have qualified in Germany, M.Bobojanova qualified in Horvath, O.Egamberiev and J.Ruzimov had research exchange and development with international university, and participated various international conferences. 
Students from the chair had been actively participating in different scientific conferences, seminars and republican Olympic game of the specialty to show and upgrade they knowledge and skills. In 2012-2013 educational year, under supervision of Sh.Jumaniyozova student F.Olloshukurova have occupied honourable1-place of Olympic game on subject of Ecology (in QSU), in 2013-2014 educational year under supervision of D.Maxmudova student F.Olloshukurova have occupied honourable 2-place of Olympic game on subject of Ecology (in QSU),under supervision of P.Kamolov the student I.Atajanov have occupied 3-place of Olympic game on subject of Agronomy (in AnAI), in 2014-2015 educational year, under supervision of D.Maxmudova student F.Olloshukurova have occupied 3-place of Olympic game on subject of Ecology (in QSU), under supervision of S.Sadullayev the student N.Yaqubova have occupied 3-place of Olympic game on subject of Agronomy (in TashSAU), in 2015-2016 educational year under supervision ofD.Maxmudova the student A.Rahimboyevahave occupied 3-place of Olympic game on subject of Ecology (in QSU). 
The 2014 – 2017 years head of chair was Dr. A.Tojiev. In chairhad worked 2 professors, 8 assistant professor, 2 senior teachers, 8 assistant teachers. 
Since 2015, the chair name is changed to "Soil science". In chair it is prepared bachelor students on a specialty of “Ecology and nature protection”, “Agronomy - (professional education)” and "Soil science".At the present, there are 189 students. 
Since 2017, at the chair Soil science of Natural science faculty of Urgench State University has created department of Melon crops, and 2017-2018 educational year will open new specialty on 5140200-Agronomy (Vegetable crops) and 5410300-Agronomy (Plant protection and quarantine). 
Since March 2017, the head of chair is working Dr. Yakubov G.K. 
Nowadays at the chair of Soil science is working c.a.s. assistant professor Yakubov G.K. as head of chair, prof. Egamberdiev R, c.a.s. assistant professor Ruzimov J, c.a.s. in agriculture Kamalov P., c.a.s. assistant professor Ramatov B., c.a.s. assistant professor Egamberdiev O., c.b.s. assistant professor Таjiev А., c.a.s. assistant professor Pirmanova S., the senior teachers Babajanova Sh., Махmudova D., Маsharipov О., Duschanov U., the teachers Matkurbanov Т., Polvanov S., Bekjanov М., Duschanova М., Jumaniyozova Sh., Маtkarimov N., Кuryazov I., Sadullayev S., Rakhimov М, the senior scientific employees Ruzmetov R. and Kurbanov M. In 2016-2017 educational year, at the chair is published 20 articles, from them 6 in republic, 2 in foreign journals, 2 in the international conferences and also 1 methodical manualis printed. Teachers and professors which is working under the Melon crops departmentare also preparing articles on distribution, biology and economic efficiency of melon crop. And there are conducting also scientific and practical seminars, trainings to students and farmers on melon crop cultivation.
