Agreements beneficial for the development of the "Museum of Victims of Repressions" were reached

On July 17, 2023, the head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) representative office in Uzbekistan, Ali Reza Tezcan, visited the "Museum of Victims of Repressions" at Urganch State University.

Before the visit, the guests got acquainted with the exposition of the museum. After that, a cooperation meeting of the parties was held. The meeting was attended by G. Orazboyev, vice-rector for international cooperation of UrSU, Y. Rahmonova, director of the museum, and E. Yoldoshev, head of the international relations department.

In it, a number of agreements were reached regarding the strengthening of the material and technical base of the "Museum of Victims of Repressions" in the structure of Urganch State University. These include the establishment of a laboratory, the joint organization and holding of republican and international scientific and practical conferences and seminars dedicated to thinkers, famous figures of science and literature, who fell victim to the repression of the authoritarian Soviet system.

It was also agreed to conduct scientific research and exchange experience in cooperation with related museums, research and educational institutions of Turkey.

Preparing and publishing the works of the oppressed state, public figures, representatives of science and culture, literature and art, in connection with the announcement of the city of Khiva as the "Tourism Capital of the Islamic World" in 2024, and the tourism potential and culture of the city of Khiva In order to actively promote the Turkish world and the international arena, proposals were made to publish the works presented in Turkish and Uzbek languages in Uzbekistan and Turkey and to distribute them to the libraries of the two countries and promote them to their peoples.
