"Sports Month" launched under the slogan "Athlete - Defender of the Homeland!"

As you know, within the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-6099 dated October 30, 2020 - "On the Development of a Healthy Lifestyle and Mass Sports", the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations has declared May 2025 as "Sports Month" in higher and vocational educational institutions of the republic under the slogan "Athlete - Defender of the Homeland!" 

Today, on May 5, an opening ceremony was held within the framework of this month. It was attended by heads of all higher educational institutions of the Khorezm region and representatives of the Khorezm regional regional department of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, along with all higher educational institutions of the republic, in the gymnasium of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni, centralized via the Zoom platform. The ceremony was opened by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, K.Sharipov, who noted that this initiative should serve to develop our youth as a physically strong, spiritually mature and loyal generation.

After that, sports competitions among students and youth began. It is worth noting that during the sports month, mass sports competitions among youth, competitions between militarized teams, sports festivals and various other events are planned.
