An International Scientific-Practical Conference on “Current Issues in Philology and Art Studies” Was Held


Today, at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni, the Faculty of Philology and Art launched the international scientific-practical conference titled “Current Issues in Philology and Art Studies”, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the great poet Komil Khorezmi and the 180th anniversary of Muhammad Rahimkhan Feruz. The event is scheduled for June 3–4.

The conference was attended by the team of the Faculty of Philology and Arts of Urgench State University, scientists from Karabuk University and  Bashkent University of the Republic of Turkey, and the Nizami Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, as well as members of the Writers' Union, both online and offline.

At the opening ceremony, the university’s Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations, Z.Ibragimov, delivered a speech wishing success to the conference. Following this, presentations began on the topics outlined in the agenda. The event was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Art, D.G‘ayipov.

The conference included in-depth discussions on the revival of literary processes, the enrichment of traditional themes, and the growing variety in literary genres. Special emphasis was placed on Komil Khorezmi’s contributions to the poetic tradition and on the ideological content of Feruz’s classical poetry.

Among the presentations delivered were:

Dr. of Philology, Prof. N. Jabborov’s “The Literary Environment of Khiva: Tradition and Mastery”;
Dr. of Philology, Prof. D. G‘ayipov’s “Some Reflections on the Influence of Ogahi’s Literary Traditions on Feruz’s Work”;
Prof. Almaz Ulvi Binnatova’s “Poetics of Lyric-Romantic Narratives”;
Prof. Abdurahman Guzel’s “The Influence of Alisher Navoi in the Mughal Northern India”;
Prof. Kemal Yavuz Ataman’s “From Khorezm to Anatolia, from Anatolia to the World: Mevlana”;
Candidate of Philology, Associate Prof. S.Matkarimova’s “The Influence of Alisher Navoi in the Development of the Riddle Genre in the Khorezm Literary Environment”.

During the cultural segment of the conference, talented students from the Faculty of Philology and Art performed musical pieces and theatrical scenes. Conference participants were impressed by the students’ talents and gave high praise. Additionally, professors and lecturers from the Department of Art performed classical music pieces penned by Komil Khorezmi live. These performances added a unique artistic flavor and aesthetic richness to the event, warmly received by the audience.

On June 4, the conference will continue its work in sectional meetings.
