The Next Round of the “Book-Loving Student” Contest Was Held

On October 31, at Urgench State University, the Faculty of Philology and Art organized the next round of the traditional “Book-Loving Student” contest. The event was attended by the faculty’s professors and students.

For this round, Nabi Jaloliddin’s novel “Umar Khayyam” (the book “Oraliq”) was selected for students of the Uzbek Language Education program, while F. Dostoevsky’s “Poor Folk” was chosen for students of the Russian Language Education program. A total of 12 participants competed in two stages, showcasing their artistic talent and literary knowledge.

During the event, students of group 231 (Uzbek Language major) performed a stage play, songs, and graceful dances.

Each stage was fairly evaluated by the jury, and the winners of the contest were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts.

This contest is significant for its aim to deepen students’ love for books and to promote a culture of reading among young people.
