Preventive events are being held at Urgench State University under the slogan “We Say No to Drugs!”

Today, on December 4, at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni, various meetings and preventive activities were conducted under the slogan “We Say No to Drugs!” as part of implementing Presidential Decree No. PF-207 of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 3, 2025, “On comprehensive measures for effective protection of public health and the nation’s gene pool from drug addiction and drug-related crime.”

At the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, a round-table discussion was held with the participation of officers from the regional Department of Internal Affairs, Criminal Investigation Division — Q.Jumanazarov and J.Rakhimov. During the meeting, students received detailed information about the dangerous consequences of drug abuse and preventive measures.

A round-table discussion on the topic “We Say No to Drugs!” was organized for first-year students of the Uzbek Language major at the Faculty of Philology and Arts. It was attended by the neurologist-narcologist F.Otajonov from the Khorezm branch of the Specialized Scientific-Practical Health Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who explained healthy lifestyle principles, disease prevention, and personal responsibility for one’s own health.

At the Faculty of Sports Activity, Pedagogy, and Psychology, a general preventive meeting was held on the topic “Say No to Drugs! Choose Life!” The neurologist-narcologist F.Otajonov from the Khorezm branch of the Specialized Scientific-Practical Center for Mental Health delivered a lecture on the tragic consequences of drug addiction and the importance of protecting youth from harmful influences.

At the Faculty of Foreign Philology, a preventive meeting with a physician was also held on the topic “Say No to Drugs! Choose Life!”, during which students received appropriate explanations.

Additionally, at the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, a preventive meeting was organized with the participation of officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs — Q.Jumanazarov, J.Rakhimov, and the Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs of the Faculty — J.Khayitov.
