Scientific-Theoretical Seminar
On December 5, 2025, a regular scientific-theoretical seminar was held at the Department of “Theory and Practice of Translation” of the Faculty of Foreign Philology at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy.
The seminar was attended by the department’s professors and teachers, doctoral students, and master’s students.
During the seminar, a presentation by the department’s doctoral student, Ozatova Nodira, titled “Paronymy and Related Phenomena,” was delivered.
The presentation addressed current issues in translation studies, comparative literary studies, and comparative linguistics. Paronymic pairs forming a small micro-system in the vocabulary of two unrelated languages were described through various examples. Their general and specific features were highlighted.
