Conference of Women in Technical and Managerial Fields Held at Urgench State University


Today, March 4, the Conference of Women in Technical and Managerial Fields is taking place at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni. The event aims to expand opportunities for women in technical and managerial professions, as well as to develop human capital in the renewable energy sector and attract university graduates as specialists in the field.

The conference is attended by the university administration, representatives of Voltalia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and KPMG, as well as faculty members of the Physics Department and graduates of the relevant bachelor’s and master’s programs.

The conference began with an official opening ceremony. Acting Rector S.Khodjaniyozov spoke, noting that in recent years, women’s activity in science, innovation, and management has been increasing, and extended sincere wishes of success to the participants.

Following this, an updated curriculum presentation was held with the support of Voltalia, EBRD, and KPMG. During the presentation, detailed information was provided on opportunities for students to participate in internships and employment within the framework of the 100 MW solar power plant project being implemented by “Voltalia Tashkent” in the Khorezm region.

As part of the conference, certificates were awarded to a group of Physics Department faculty members who successfully completed the KPMG training and lecture program on “Renewable Energy Sources.”

Associate Professor K. Yakubov presented the new bachelor’s program — 60711000 “Alternative Energy Sources / Solar Energy” and the master’s program — 70710413 “Renewable Energy Sources.” These programs are designed in accordance with the requirements of the modern labor market and the principles of sustainable development.

Additionally, lectures were delivered by women leaders on their educational paths, professional development, challenges overcome, and new opportunities.

The conference contributes to increasing women’s activity in technical and managerial fields, realizing their scientific and professional potential, and preparing qualified personnel in the renewable energy sector.
