"Rector's Cup" sports competitions
On October 22 of this year, an awards ceremony was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni for the winners and top performers of the "Rector’s Cup"—a traditional sports competition organized for the university’s faculty and staff. University Rector Feruza Madrahimova attended the event, warmly congratulating the teams that achieved high results and ceremoniously presenting them with diplomas and commemorative gifts. The Faculty of Philology team participated actively in the competitions and secured notable placements. Specifically, Salomat Djumaniyazova, an Associate Professor in the Department of Russian Language and Literature, took third place in the chess tournament. Faculty members from the Department of Russian Language and Literature consistently participate in these sports events and frequently achieve top rankings.
