Exposition departments of the museum "Museum of Victims of Repressions" in the structure of UrSU

 

The exposition consists of Introduction, 4 blocks, and 8 sections, which are displayed in 3 halls.

 

BLOCK 1

 

Section 1. Topic: "Occupation of the Khanate of Khiva by the Russian Empire, the struggle of local people for freedom and independence(1868-1900)".

The content of the chapter: the history of the Russian Empire's conquest of the khanates in Central Asia (Khiva Khanate in 1873). The colonial policy of the Russian Empire in Turkestan and its consequences. National liberation struggles against colonialism in Khiva Khanate. Brutal punishment of the population who participated in the uprisings.

Section 2. Topic: "National revival movement in Khiva Khanate, its practical directions and representatives (1901-1917)".

Chapter content: The beginning of the national awakening movement against the colonial policy. The activities of modern intellectuals in the way of opening new method schools, publishing newspapers and magazines, organizing theater, creating new literature.

 

2 – BLOCK

 

Section 3. Topic: "The liquidation of the People's Republic of Khorezm and the establishment of Bolshevik power in the region (1917-1929)".

Content of the chapter: February Revolution of 1917. Creation of organizations and societies such as "Sho'rai Islam", "Milliy Ittihad" and "Milliy Istiqlal", "Yosh Khivalikor". End of Khiva Khanate. Structure of Khorezm People's Soviet Republics. The rise of the Bolsheviks to the top of the government in Turkestan.

Non-national policy of the Soviet state. The beginning of the resistance movement in Khorezm in response to the tyranny and injustice of the Bolsheviks. This is the crushing of the movement. The rise of "eavesdropping" and collectivization campaigns. Relocation of families who were "left behind" in rural areas to the difficult regions of Northern Ukraine, North Caucasus, Siberia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan.

 

Section 4. Topic: "The beginning of the repression policy of the Soviet state

  (1929-1936)".

Content of the chapter: repression of the advanced strata of the population by the GPU authorities. Persecution of priests and religious. The escalation of the struggle against the "old" intelligentsia.

 

BLOCK 3

Section 5. Topic: "The Great Massacre" of 1937-1938

Content of the section: State and party, scientific and cultural figures, as well as representatives of other spheres in Khorezm region, were subjected to massive repression and their property was confiscated for the benefit of the state. Family members of people considered "enemies of the people" are imprisoned, and their children are sent to orphanages in the republic and outside the republic. Temptation to look for "enemy of the people", "spy", "counter-revolutionary" elements in state apparatuses, industrial enterprises, educational institutions.

 

Section 6. Topic: "Political repressions in 1940-1950"

The content of the chapter: on the eve of the war of 1941-1945 and in the first years of the war, the persecution and repression of people who were dissatisfied with the policy of the Soviet state because they could serve the enemy. In the post-war years, the beginning of campaigns such as the fight against nationalism and cosmopolitanism. Repression of poets, writers, and scientists, sentencing them to 25 years in prison instead of 10 years. Transmigration of Koreans from the Far East in the late 1930s, Crimean Tatars, Ingush, Karachay and other Turkic peoples from the Crimea and the Caucasus, as well as Polish and German populations, to Uzbekistan, especially to the regions.

Section 7. Topic: "Repression in the 1980s. "Cotton Work" Campaign

Content of the section: unjust policy carried out by the former Center in Uzbekistan; that as a result of the one-sided development of the republic's economy, it has become a place for cheap raw materials; cotton monopoly and its sad consequences; aggravation of the economic and social situation, aggravation of the ecological situation. Illegal activities committed in our republic by party and law enforcement officers who called themselves "paratroopers" sent from the former Center with great authority. Implementation of the political campaign called "Cotton case", organized slander and slander against the Uzbek people.

The unfair victims of these campaigns in the Khorezm region: the "criminal case" of many people who were investigated in other republics and their suffering in prisons and camps there. This political campaign was carried out in order to save the USSR, which was on the brink of a cliff.

In 1989, the exposure of the political machinations of the Soviet state. Bringing many of our citizens who were unfairly prosecuted in connection with the "Cotton Case" and kept in prisons in other republics to Uzbekistan, and retrial of their "criminal cases"; acquittal of innocent victims.

Section 8. Topic: "In the years of independence, historical works carried out to restore historical justice, perpetuate the memory of repression victims, preserve and develop national values (the period after 1991)".

 

Section Contents:

Establishing the issue of restoration of historical justice as a priority of the socio-political and cultural policy of our country and the great work being done in this regard.

Acquittal of the victims of political repression in our country in the 1930s and 1980s and perpetuation of their memory.

Practical works aimed at finding the historical truth about the discredited statesmen and generals (Amir Temur, Jalaluddin Manguberdi, Abulghozi Bahadirkhan, Muhammad Rahimkhan II - Feruz, Islamkhoja, etc.) during the Soviet era. Revival and honoring of the memory of the great representatives of Islamic religion and philosophy (Imam Bukhari, Imam Moturidi, Burkhaniddin Marginani, Bakhouddin Naqshband, Pahlavon Mahmud, Az-Zamakhshari, Najmuddin Kubro) whose names were banned and discredited during the Soviet era. Work done in this regard in Khorezm region. Revival of Nowruz, Ramadan and Eid al-Adha as national holidays; Scientific research of the book "Avesta".

Works condemned as examples of feudal literature in the Soviet era, "Alpomish" epic) Khorazm epics, manuscript copies of the heroic series - epics of the Gorogli series: Edigo, Khurliqo and Hamro, manuscript copies of Sayotkhan and Hamro epics, epics of the Ashiq series: Ashiq Gharib and Shokhsanam, Ashiq Mahmud ; Manuscript copies of Tahir and Zuhra epics, versions of oral recitations, "Haft Shuaro" collection (Sultani, Shinasi, Ghazi, Asad, Murodi, Farrukh), and poets (Ahmad Yassavi, Burkhaniddin Rabguzi, Feruz, Yusuf Hazini, Khuwayda) ;

Religious and educational monuments that were trampled and neglected during the Soviet era (Sheikh Mukhtar Vali, Sayyid Alovuddin, Yusuf Hamadoni, Togon Turk Mausoleum, Yunus Khan Mausoleum, Three Saints Mausoleum, Sheikh Mavlon Baba Complex, Bibi Hajar Mausoleum, Shahimardan Complex) reconstruction and maintenance of freedom of belief.
