On April 29, a regular scientific-theoretical seminar was held at the Department of “Romance-Germanic Philology” of the Faculty of Foreign Philology at the Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruni.

At the seminar, basic doctoral student Kadirova Shoxsanam Babaxonovna delivered a presentation on the topic “Structural features of nouns expressing natural phenomena in German and Uzbek languages.”

The seminar was attended by professors and lecturers, young researchers, and master’s students.

During the seminar, the results of scientific research on this topic were presented. In the report, the structural features of nouns expressing natural phenomena in German and Uzbek languages were analyzed on the basis of a comparative approach. In particular, it was scientifically substantiated that affixation as a word-formation method prevails in the Uzbek language, while compound word formation (composition) is widely used in the German language.

At the end of the seminar, participants expressed their opinions and comments, and the significance of the research results was especially emphasized.
