Holiday wishes of the rector of Urganch State University Bakhrom Abdullayev on the New Year

Dear compatriots, dear team of our university!

I sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, on the coming New Year 2023. I wish you all the greatest wealth, health and family happiness. In the New Year, may endless joy, grace and blessings, peace and tranquility disappear from your home!

Of course, every year that passes gives us an incentive to feel the value of life and time more deeply, a mirror to summarize what we are doing, to make our future plans, and to determine our priority goals. The past year was a year full of great achievements and milestones for our university. At this point, I would like to mention some of our achievements, which are the result of the good and hard work of our university team of many thousands throughout the year.

In particular, in 2022, taking into account the need for personnel in our region, 6 new educational areas and 9 new master's specialties were opened;

As an academic independent higher education institution, students of qualifications for 1st-year study areas and specialties, study plans, science curricula, having studied the experience of foreign top-500 higher education institutions, as well as educational and regulatory documents were developed and approved in agreement with the leading higher education institutions of our republic;

Ensuring the quality of education was monitored through the HEMIS electronic education management system, digital technologies were introduced into the educational process;

The credit-module system was introduced in the 1-2-3 courses of the bachelor's degree and all stages of the master's degree;

A total of 163 supervisors and pedagogues of the university received advanced training in their fields at the centers of the supervisors and pedagogues of the base HEIs of the Republic;

In 2022, 13 textbooks, 19 training manuals, 105 training manuals were developed and published;

47 professors and teachers from prestigious foreign and national higher education institutions were involved in the educational process;

93 professors and teachers of foreign languages received an internationally recognized certificate of С1 level;

"Modernization of the Curricula in the sphere of smart building engineering-GREB", "Environmental Protection in Central Asia: Disaster Risk Management with Spatial Methods-EPCA", "Establishment of training and research centers and Courses development on Intelligent BigData Analysis" of the European Union Erasmus+ program in CA-ELBA" projects, modern laboratories were established;

In 2022, 73 applicants were admitted to basic doctoral studies in 37 specialties, 4 applicants to doctoral studies in 3 specialties, and 10 applicants to intern research. A total of 57 teachers received PhD degrees and 5 professors received DcS scientific degrees.

Happily, in 2022, the activities of the technical science specialty "02.00.13-Technology of inorganic substances and materials based on them" were launched. Currently, 6 scientific councils are operating in 9 specialties in total;

As a result of the research work, 558 scientific articles were published by professors and teachers, 71 were published in Scopus and WOS databases (including 243 in foreign scientific journals), monographs were published in 5 foreign and 23 republican publishing houses. Along with this, patents were obtained for 2 software products and 12 utility model samples of inventions;

In international rankings, "Young University Rankings - 2022 reporter", "Times Higher Education Impact Rankings" "1001+", "Asia University Rankings-2022" reporter, "THE World University Ranking-2023" reporter took place;

Awarded the winner's certificate in the category of the most exemplary stand for higher education institutions at the "InnoWeek.Uz-2022" international week of innovative ideas held by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

The youер of our university are currently achieving a number of achievements in terms of invention. In particular, Khojayeva Mahliyo, a 1st-level graduate student of the Faculty of Chemical Technologies, majoring in food technology, participated in the "INNOWEEK-2022" innovative project competition on the topic "Reprocessing local melon varieties and applying the technology of obtaining new types of products." and was awarded the "Leader of Innovative Ideas" medal.

Dear colleagues!

As you know, this year, Urganch State University received 46.2 billion sums for 2,000 places from extra-budgetary funds. The construction of the building of the "SMART" faculty with a modern educational-laboratory complex has been started. The construction work will be completed in the first months of 2023, and the new modern building will be handed over to our students.

Together with this, in May of this year, 2 sports grounds were built and commissioned for 719 million soums.

At the same time, a student residence with 800 seats, two educational buildings for 2,450 seats, a technological park and a modern library with 250 seats were put into use at the university with extra-budgetary funds.

Dear students!

The high achievements of our students in the last year made the whole team very happy.

In particular, in 2022, 19 students of Urganch State University won Presidential and named state scholarships by order of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education;

In the spring season of the republican "Student League" tournament organized between higher education institutions, the team of Urganch State University took the first place among more than 360 teams of more than 150 higher education institutions and won the championship;

Student athletes of the Faculty of Physical Culture won 3 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze medals at international sports competitions. 84 students won and received prizes in the national sports competitions;

The volleyball girls of our university won the gold medal at the Universiade 2022 sports competition.

I am sure that the coming year 2023 - "Year of attention to people and quality education" will be a more blessed year for our community and a fruitful year with high results in the development of science.
