American Professor to Conduct Lectures at UrSU

Today, on September 23, 2025, as part of the U.S.Fulbright Program, Professor Oyarzabal Omar Adrian from the University of Vermont arrived in Khorezm—one of Uzbekistan’s major scientific centers—with the aim of starting his academic activities at the Khorezm Mamun Academy.

As part of his visit, he also came to Urgench State University, accompanied by Saidakhon Musakhanova, Senior Specialist of the Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy. The guests were warmly welcomed at the university.

Following this, a meeting was held with the university leadership, headed by Acting Rector S.Khodjaniyazov, and professors from the Faculty of Foreign Philology. During the conversation, new prospects for international cooperation, scientific research, and working with students and youth were discussed.

It is worth noting that the main goal of Professor Oyarzabal’s visit to Khorezm is to establish deep cooperation in the fields of science and education. From September 22 to October 30, he will be conducting joint scientific research with local scientists at the Mamun Academy laboratory.

Additionally, he will deliver lectures to students in the fields of Biology, Biotechnology, and Food Safety at Urgench State University, introducing them to modern scientific approaches.

Importantly, Professor Oyarzabal will also guide talented students in the English Language and Literature program on how to prepare scientific articles and publish them in international databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. The most gifted undergraduate and graduate students will have the opportunity to carry out applied research in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Mamun Academy.
