Uzbek Language Day Celebrated with Ceremony at Urgench State University


Today, a festive event was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni in honor of the 36th anniversary of the Uzbek language being granted official state language status.

The event was opened by Nigora Kutlimuratova, Deputy Governor of Khorezm Region and Head of the Department for Family and Women's Affairs. In her speech, she emphasized the growing prestige of the Uzbek language and its increasing role in social life. She spoke about the reforms being carried out in the region to promote language policy, preserve the mother tongue, and instill respect for the language in the minds of young people. She warmly congratulated all participants on the occasion.

Furthermore, a group of professors and teachers were awarded honorary certificates from the Governor of Khorezm Region and commemorative gifts for their dedicated efforts in promoting the role of the Uzbek language in society, ensuring the full implementation of the state language, and contributing to the field of linguistics.

In the artistic part of the event, well-known local performers presented traditional music and songs.
