Today, January 14, a scientific-theoretical seminar entitled “Polysemy Features of Sentence-Structured Phraseological Units in French” was held at the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.
The seminar was attended by the faculty members of the department.
A presentation was delivered by Ozada Masharipovna Matyoqubova, a lecturer of the department, who discussed the multilayered semantic structure of sentence-type phraseological units in French, their manifestation in different meanings depending on context, as well as their discursive and pragmatic functions. Special attention was paid to the close relationship between phraseological units and language and culture.
The seminar aroused great interest among the participants. At the end of the session, practical and theoretical views on the topic were expressed.
