A Spiritual and Educational Event Held at UrSU

Today, on March 3, a spiritual and educational event was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni on the topics “National Values and Their Role in National Spirituality” and “How I Understand the Threat of Religious Extremism and Terrorism.”

The event was attended by the First Vice-Rector of the university D.Ibadullayev, Rector’s Advisor A.Shakarov, Chief Specialist of the Urgench City Department of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Vaisov, Head of the Urgench Branch of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment D.Jumaniyazov, as well as university tutors who delivered speeches.

University students also took part in the event, where the role of national values in social life, issues of youth spirituality, and personal development were comprehensively discussed. Special attention was paid to the negative consequences of religious extremism and terrorism, measures to prevent them, and the education of young people as socially active and knowledgeable individuals.

In addition, issues such as combating ignorance and various alien ideas through enlightenment, strengthening national and universal values in the minds of young people, and respecting human rights and freedoms were thoroughly discussed.

Indeed, in today’s era of globalization, ideological attacks occurring worldwide and various destructive ideas pose a serious threat to the minds and future of young people. During the meeting, particular attention was given to internet usage culture, protecting youth from alien ideas, extremist movements, drug abuse, and destructive propaganda carried out under the guise of religion.
