Today, Urgench State University is hosting a Republican Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Theoretical and Practical Issues of Uzbek Linguistics and Innovative Research”, organized at the initiative of the Faculty of Philology and Arts and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Professor Zaribbay Dosimov, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Honored Scientist of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The conference is attended by distinguished scholars from various higher education institutions across the country, professors and lecturers of Urgench State University, as well as the professor’s close colleagues and former students.
The prestigious scientific event was opened by University Rector Feruza Madrakhimova, who highlighted Professor Dosimov’s significant contributions to science and education and expressed her sincere congratulations on the occasion of his jubilee.
During the congratatory session, S. Salayev, Deputy Governor of the Khorezm Region, delivered remarks and read a congratulatory message from the regional governor dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor Dosimov. The message highly recognized the scholar’s invaluable contribution to the development of Uzbek linguistics, the establishment of a scientific school, and the advancement of national science.
Among the speakers at the conference were Marufjon Yuldashev, Professor at Tashkent University of Economics and Pedagogy; Nizomiddin Mahmudov, Director of the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; Nosirjon Uluqov, Professor at Namangan State University; and Shamshetdin Abdinazimov, Professor at Berdakh Karakalpak State University. The speakers emphasized that the scholar’s productive academic activity, as well as his monographs, textbooks, teaching manuals, and popular scientific works, continue to serve as important resources for the in-depth analysis of current issues in national linguistics.The conference presentations are currently ongoing. Participants are sharing comprehensive views on Professor Zaribbay Dosimov’s rich scientific legacy, particularly his fundamental research in Uzbek and Karakalpak linguistics, his distinguished mentorship activities in guiding young scholars toward scientific research, and his significant contribution to the development of the national language.
This prestigious scientific gathering serves as an important platform for commemorating Professor Dosimov’s multifaceted scholarly career and rich legacy, discussing current issues in linguistics, and exchanging scientific experience.
