International competition "Eco-zakovat"
In order to ensure the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-110 dated March 25, 2026 on comprehensive measures to accelerate environmental education, science and propaganda within the framework of the nationwide project “Eco-culture”, the international competition “Eco-zakovat” was held in Samarkand from June 6-10, 2026.
The competition was attended by teams of 6 participants and 1 observer, consisting of students studying in the field of ecology and the environment in higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
Initially, an internal competition was organized with the participation of “eco-intelligence” clubs from 14 higher educational institutions from different regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The competition was attended by 2 master's students and 4 bachelor's students of the department of "Ecology and Safety of Life Activities" from the Abu Rayhon Beruniy Urgench State University. Associate Professor of the department Matkarimov Nizomjon Bakhtiyorovich participated as an observer. During the competition, the team of Abu Rayhon Beruniy Urgench State University won the "Most Ambitious Team" nomination and was awarded an honorary medal.
