Today, on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a solemn opening ceremony was held at Abu Rayhan Beruni Urgench State University to inaugurate a new, modern academic building — another important development project dedicated to the advancement of education and science. The ceremony was attended by prominent representatives of the fields of science, education, art and culture of Khorezm Region, honorary professors and teachers of the university, faculty members, and students.
At the ceremony, Khorezm Region Governor Jurabek Rakhimov took part and highlighted the importance of the new building for university life, the quality of education, scientific potential, and the modern opportunities being created for young people. He warmly congratulated the university community on the opening of this landmark facility.
The new academic building consists of eight floors and is designed to accommodate 1,800 students. It is the university’s 9th academic building and houses the Faculty of Intelligent Sciences and Technologies.
Most importantly, the new educational facility, equipped with modern information technologies, computer science and IT infrastructure — including an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory located within the building — will contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists in these fields.
During the event, honorary professors and teachers of the university also delivered speeches, expressing their appreciation for the tremendous opportunities created in the field of education during the years of independence and for the great attention being devoted to science and youth education.
The young people who will study at this facility are the programmers, engineers, scientists, and innovators of tomorrow. There is no doubt that their modern knowledge and potential will make a worthy contribution to the digital development of New Uzbekistan.
