The new academic year has begun
Today, September 7, a solemn ceremony was held at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni to mark the start of the 2026-2027 academic year.
The ceremony was opened by the university rector, Feruza Madrahimova, who warmly congratulated the students on the start of the new academic year. In her address, the rector emphasized that student life is one of the most unforgettable and responsible periods in a person’s life. She encouraged young people to pursue knowledge, continue learning and exploring, serve their homeland with dedication, and uphold the honor of the university with dignity.
The event was attended, alongside the university’s distinguished professors, by Anora Makhmudova, Hero of Uzbekistan. They warmly congratulated the students on the beginning of the new academic year and wished the younger generation great success in their education and future careers, as well as outstanding achievements in their academic and scientific endeavors.
During the event, first-year students recommended for admission to the university took the “Student Oath.”
